3 Idiots Reflection

Lately our facilitator give a task on us in his Virtual Learning E that task is create a reflection about “3 Idiots” and we need to choose one for our reflection and to represents to ourselves. The story of Three Idiots was all about three guys who are classmates and best friends, studying in one of the finest school in India which is Imperial College of Engineering. Each character of the movie has its side stories. The three of them namely Raju , Farhan and Rancho were the best of friends and never tend to give in to the challenges and obstacles life offered to them.  Raju and Farhan first met at their rooms wherein they are roommates of course. Raju is a God-Fearing individual wherein he always begs and prays always for miracles to happen in his education. Farhan in the other hand is the one who’s ambitions are still not to be heard by his father, he always follows what his father wants him to and does not have the guts to overcome the fear of telling his father what he really wants to do in his life. Lastly, Rancho his full name is Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chancad it already speaks for himself, he is unique from the very start. He is a free bird that got in to the nest of Virus, the Imperial College of Engineering President. He is a very competitive man who never sees himself  behind others. To start with my reflection, I have chosen Raju Rastogi as my favorite. In my two(2) hours fifty(50) minutes of watching the show, I laughed and cried with the movie because of his deeds to his friends. First of all, Raju was just a newbie at school who was mysterious and yet had a quiet personality and Raju had the character in which made him who he is in the movie. He had the mindset of the normal mindset wherein he shall get high grades, be an employee and get a good job with a good salary in order to help his family. He was pressured from the start up to the point wherein he could not handle anymore the pressure and went to charms and always prays to God for favors and stuff. In the job interview, he was told that he was so straight to the point on what he is saying and was told that if he will adjust on what he is doing, they may reconsider him as one of the picks to be accepted in the interview. When that movie had a character Raju , I feel like to him pressured because of his family that need to take the risk of the family he limited of doing something like happiness to his life that everyone needs that as their mindset of his family Raju they wanted to an engineering to go Imperial College of Engineering and finish the studies, and to provide the needs of his family, us well now in our house they said to me that study is your wealth more its more than the money , so if I finish my studies I can help to my family and find a work and get higher salary as a matter of fact our facilitator in technopreneurships 1 he shared something new in me like “Think Outside The Box” and the about the “Alternative mindset”. On the other hand, Farhan was the type of child who always follows what his father wants for him. He was the type of person who’s wants was not heard from the start. His fate was sealed from the start of his life when his father told him that he would be an engineer. His dreams of becoming somebody in something  is clearly not heard. His dreams of becoming a wildlife photographer was not listened by his father until the time when Rancho won their bet. Not knowing that Rancho and his friends send his letter to one of his favorite photographer, he received a reply and was informed by Rancho that he will become an assistant for the photographer loved his pictures. He was afraid to tell his father that he will be quitting engineering in order to pursue his dreams of becoming a wildlife photographer. And lastly is Phunsuleh Wangdu or known as Ranchhodas "Rancho" Shamaldas Chanchad who was a man who loves studying since he was a child and had carried the name of the son of the prime minister, the one who adopted him because he is just the son of a gardener. Farhan Queshi, Raju Rastugi and Rabchhoddas Shamaldas Chadchad taking up engineering at the Imperial College Technology. They were called idiots because they do such things that their professors annoyed especially Rancho. This movie tells us to live each moment to the fullest. In the movie their Director Viru “Virus” Sahustraddhe always tells them that life is a race, and if you don’t run fast, you’ll get tramped. Their rules was to follow what their professors says, strict that keep pushing the student and pressured them and here comes the time that the student would surrender. So rules I think is the best study to make you responsible and if you don’t you may take a risk, like me I may not follow the rules of our facilitator that why? He gave me a punishment to make me responsible in the rules and taught what is right? And now I regularly wearing polo every school days because of the fact that I don’t want again to punish again and not to disobeyed the rules of our school. And to help the students they need a teacher taught them what is right and wrong? But in this movie their teacher or as a professional teacher, you must not put your students to shame because they are trying their best to make up with the lessons that the teachers are giving to them, but there are really times that there are people who are not that lucky to be intelligent and have different dreams and passions in life. And lastly Rancho said “Don’t chase success. Become a professional and success will chase you. “That inspired me saying that I must pursue my course and don't give up no matter what will happen. Because in the end, I will be the one who will be enjoying my success and I am also the one who will make this possible and nobody else can. So in situation that has its own mindset that having on ability and every one of us has its own weaknesses. We may not ready to face it today but eventually there will be someone out there will help us and make us realized that with just a little courage, we could’ve turned our life around. Let’s not quit, just celebrate the ride it may hurt us. It will give us time. And it will require dedication and sacrifice. But it will be worth it. And I’m lucky enough to witnessed with this kind of film that talks about life, friendship, love and most importantly how to deal with problems. That everything will be fine, aal izz well. Maybe this film can't save lives. But sure as I am, it can make you feel life is worth living for. In this society, that has a default mindset. As the matter of the fact we need to change the mindset of what we see to or default mindset, so I think I we can little bit of that mindset we really do what we want in the future and help to our society not only in ourselves also in our environment.

Everyone in this film has its own character in their life and have a problem to accomplished to make ourselves proudly I we do things more we expect because of the fact that we think not only in ourselves but we also think to our environment us well to our facilitator he and his friend they think our city to make our city beautiful and full of high technology in the near future and not to behind about what technology is. I’m not an engineer but his life of their school and their situation I saw many times our school, that’s why I merely relate to the film and I was touching when I that film and I talked to myself it’s that impossible that I may looks like them or on their situation I think we must to strive hard to follow our dreams and to be success. The movie made us realize that we do not need to be afraid for we need to be risk takers, we need to have a little faith in us to do what we want to do and be what we want to be. So it’s amazing and power movie that it could be change our mindset to create our potential someday more useful the ability we had. So “Don Be Afraid To Follow Our Dream”. God Bless Us all !!

Propel for Davao City

As we see now the Davao City is one of the most beautiful place in this country because of the people how they handle the city to make the city remain beautiful not only in the resources but also the culture what we have and attitude of every people live in this city, even though some foreigner here ask many questions davaoñoe’s neither understand the question or not they find a way to understand the questions they use the sign language so look how davaoñeo’s very hospitable that’s why a lot of foreigners here stay and live for their whole life and find the person they love and to care for them. Davao city have many beautiful site or view, some foreigner go here to the place in personal. Where Davao City came from the region's name is derived from its Bagobo origins. The word davao came from the phonetic blending of three Bagobosubgroups' names for the Davao River, a major waterway emptying into the Davao Gulf near the city. The aboriginal Obos, who inhabit the hinterlands of the region, called the river Davah (with a gentle vowel ending, although later pronunciation is with a hardv or b); the Clatta (or Giangan/Diangan) called it Dawaw, and the Tagabawa called it Dabo. To the Obos, davah also means "a place beyond the high grounds" (alluding to settlements at the mouth of the river surrounded by high, rolling hills). When asked where they were going, the usual reply was davah (pointing towards the town). Dawaw also refers to a trading settlement, where forest goods are bartered for salt and other commodities. Meanwhile, a city is a large town or a populated urban area where the busiest people can be found. It is ruled by a Mayor (the highest position in a local government unit), a Vice Mayor, and City Councilors. The mayor serves as the “Chairman of the City Council”. The City Council is responsible for the proposal of bills and city ordinances; they do voting every time there is a proposed bill. Only the Mayor can reject any decision made by the City Council. In a certain region, most business deals are done in the city. In addition, different buildings in different sizes can also be found in the city. On the other hand, higher cost of living, pollution, traffic, higher rates of crimes and over populated areas can be experience in the city.
They said Davao City is a very safe place just like the quote “Davao ,Life is here” so for that very simple quotation given, other country will it say the foreigner they think first which part of the Philippines they want to stay to make their self-secured so here in the Davao City our authority here is very active and also the government that’s why when the entrepreneurs starts fast growing the Davao city also wants it too, look now in the streets and outside in your home they have many difference to the other city in our country. Our very own Davao City is very nice place that everyone can live here in a secured place that you need to mind to the some people who want a go to jail. Davao City's land, totalling about 2,443.61 square kilometres (943.48 sq mi), is hilly in the west (the Marilog district) and slopes down to the southeastern shore. Mount Apo, the highest peak in the Philippines, is located at the city's southwestern tip. Mount Apo National Park (the mountain and its surrounding vicinity), was inaugurated by President Manuel Quezon (in Proclamation 59 of May 8, 1936) to protect the flora and fauna of the surrounding mountain range. The Davao River is the city's primary drainage channel. Draining an area of over 1,700 km2 (660 sq mi), the 160-kilometre (99 mi) river begins in the town of San Fernando, Bukidnon. Almost half of the total land area is classified as timberland or forest. Agriculture remains the largest economic sector comprising banana, pineapple, coffee and coconut plantations. So in our place the Davao city is very a lot of resources that can we get a money, get a money and handle with care the resources to help our Mother Earth. Everyone has the capability to help for the economy, economy means is what makes city keep going and going, it keeps the city stand, and it is the one that picture if the city is a city or a city is not a city. Economy is what the world keep living, it is the reason a country is working, it is the reason the city is still alive, economy is very important, the government should keep on watch about the economy, and I think not just the government should do that but also people who are involve, even it is a public official, a private official, an employee or even just a normal person that you see on the streets, and every people have an ability or an unique idea to help the economy in a certain place, you should not make yourself a flower in your place, you need to be a human that is strong and know how to think. Our facilitator told us about his dream and goals for Davao City, also his dreams and goals to his students, he said that he wanted to do something for the city, he wanted this city to be progressive as the other city in the country or more progressive than the other city, he wanted to produce a lot of job in the city, he wanted to innovate something for the city progression of economy, he wanted the city to be perfect for living and working. As for his students, our facilitator told us that his past students who are really good were not able to find jobs here in the city, and because of that reason his best students look for job not in the city but in the other city, he said that it seems we are feeding other city good graduates and make their city more better, and what we have here are just the remaining. I think some reason why they go to other places is to tell them that they came from the land of durian the precious on city in the Mindanao the Davao city to prove them that they proud being a Davaoñeo and to help other places to change their mindset to make that every person have a special to an amazing idea and the things to help their economy so I think that is some reason why the go outside the city. But in my path I think I need more study or to think what is the best ideas to make our city stay and clean beautiful city in the country and not also here and also for the whole wide world that’s Davao city is amazing that we only think that idea for the whole city to make more improved us well to the technology. I’m a third year college students of University of Southeastern Philippines taking up Bachelor Science of Information Technology (BSIT) and taking the technopreneurship 1 subject, all of my perceptions and beliefs were changed into something positive.  I would suggest to strengthen the IT opportunities here in Davao City. So that it would help grow the economy here in Davao City. It would also help to promote the business partners to invite their business friend to invest here in Davao City. For now only I can do is to promote the technopreneurship 1 subject and made them realize that there are still ways to earn money. Mostly of my classmates already earning because Business Process Outsourcing. Mostly companies offer this kind of job because they know that it is one of the choices especially those who are still studying and they want to earn. It is another type of technopreneurship that sells a product to their customers. I realized that I should have set my mind into alternative mindset. Because of the lessons shared by our facilitator, I am inspired to own a company, be the boss and hire employees. So with this mindset, I will use it as an instrument to help my fellow citizen and be able to grow the economy of Davao City through my innovative ideas. And thanks to subject Technopreneurship 1 and I want to make some new technologies that are not yet implemented. But before doing it, I want to create an organization of technopreneurs that the primary goal is to develop something that will of help in boosting the economy of Davao City and will surely benefit the mankind. After that, I want to gather all influential leaders of different IT related organizations here in Davao City and propose to them to create something which could be used by technopreneurs or by simple entrepreneurs to be able to cope up with the competition in the business world, here and outside the city. Also, through this, their organizations will be known for their creations and they could make a big impact to the society. I’ve a lot want to do just like to innovate our jeepney our Public Utility Jeepney (PUJ), I want that every driver save money and to make less use money instead of buying the gasoline every day and I hope every jeepney on the top have a “solar power device” that can generate electricity to move the jeepney to less the air pollution and more save to the gasoline we all know that gasoline now is very expensive and for  the sake of owners or drivers of that PUJ and I wanna to propose this and I hope it will approve by the government to support it for the City sake and environment protection less air pollution to the whole world this kind of technopreneurships of thinking of innovation of this city. It is not just about popularity, but it is more on how you made a change to the society and mankind and what have contributed to boost the economy of the city. And if given me a chance to ask what next to do I want to make a lot of seminars that some people here in our city that they didn’t make to graduates I will give free seminars that can know how to build a device that marketable to help our economy so if that kind of system I think here in Davao that some people here said that they “poor? ” now I think if the join that project they never say that because they have an idea to produce a money to help their selves not only their selves but also the economy of the city will get improve because of that project. On the seminars, they will be taught about the help and advantages of technopreneurship in the business industry of Davao City, on how Davao City progress because of technology. They will be lectured on what these technology can do in the improvements and progress of their individual aspects of living. They will be given some trainings on how to use those technologies for them to be backed-up with knowledge, learnings and experiences when they will do apply jobs in any IT companies in the city. For those who are not really blessed to be accepted on the job that they will be applying, the city government will have to offer jobs that uses technology, whether it is for business or for the city’s welfare. We know as I said Davao City is one of the largest cities in the world, and I was amazed how the government of Davao especially the mayor handle this kind of a big city, he helps people and people help him. There will be no problems in helping the city’s economy, as long as the people how to help the city there will be no problems at all. All we need is to produce quality graduates, invite investors to put their businesses here, offer them our best students, in that way our best graduates will no longer work in other places or city they will be working in the businesses that standing in Davao city, in that way too, they will help propel the economy of Davao city. Business that’s word is now very important we know if you don’t have that kind of word or don’t have a business in this world you can’t able to live it’s you don’t have any source of income. And if they mastered the taught from the seminar and they apply to the company they will be paid up and it will have a double advantages at the same time, the individual will earn while learning and the city will gaining both the progress and the unemployment rate that will pull down the economy of the city will be lessen. Now the Davao city is a lot of investors and many malls and many more business are in the Davao city have so its means Davao city is candidates of being most rich and abundant in business. It is good to hear that our city is advanced as compared to other places in terms of technology and its economy is propelling because a lot of investors are now coming in to Davao. Making something good in our society makes us proud of ourselves because through our simple efforts, we make a history in our city that is worth to treasure and be proud of. It feels fulfilling whenever you know that you change something for the betterment of mankind and people here in Davao is the answer with this situation and they must unite for the sake of the city as well as for their lives. I believe that as the people of Davao accept the changes and embrace the modernity which is the today’s technology, Davao’s economy will be on its zenith and even could be the great city not only in the country but in the whole world. To reach an achievement Davao city is one of the most fast growing place in the country and the only city in the Philippines which has reach the top 100 which was also make possible by the Mayor of Davao City. This is the place where I am living and is aware of the things that are happening. Only few things to be change to this place and this place would be known to its natural beauty. We should always think outside the box never put limits onto your ideas which you think could help not just here in Davao City but also to the Country and to the World. As a student which is studying or enrolled to the subject Technopreneurship I should always think of all the possible ways or ideas which are also possible to become into reality.
And for last if we take a path always we remember that in every step we take the God is in our plans that what we want to do in our life and to be success and we need to strive hard for our plans to the city just like the quote “Don’t be afraid to follow your dream”. God Bless Us!

FTS : Paper 1

Field Trip and Seminars is the most awaited subject of the curriculum, because students will have the chance to go to the other places in the country, go to the companies, listen to the speakers, attend to seminars and lets you gain knowledge.  So last February our head of students and facilitator called us to make a meeting he or she had a subject Field Trip Seminar (FTS) next semester, then go to the Lab1 first I came into that session I’m so nervous because sir is there so some of our senior in our college is shared a story about that scenario if you join that activity the Field Trip Seminar the tell what we get there or what we learned to the other some ideas that they to the class. The other things that they said are what you give an idea it will make money or startup for business of growing thins to our self make in the top. So the class votes for the officer who is want to president and other officer to the class. Ms. Iana Yu win that title he “President” for is she only the fifth year level and we a trust them and to become of one of officer.
Some of the model the president tells us what model that we need to choose.
Model A = 1 Major Fieldtrip (outside Mindanao) + 1 minor fieldtrip (Mindanao) + 1 seminar (national) + 2 hrs. Interpersonal skills;
Model B = 1 Major Fieldtrip (outside Mindanao) + 2 minor fieldtrip (Mindanao) + 2 seminars (8hrs) (Mindanao) + 2 hrs. Interpersonal skills and
Model C = 3 Minor fieldtrips (Mindanao) + 4 seminars (16hrs) (Mindanao) + 2hrs. Interpersonal skills.

Since we are about to start the class has a requirement to choose a model of what we are going to follow. We have four choices the Model A, B, C and D. The model A represents the one major field trip in the country, one minor field trip inside Mindanao, two hours seminar and two hours Interpersonal. It is a model they choose on the previous students where they visit many IT companies inside the Metro Manila. The model B represents the one major field trip outside Mindanao, two minor field trip inside Mindanao, one hour seminar and two hours Interpersonal. I could not see the differences of this two but only the number of field trip inside the Mindanao. Next is the model C which shows the one major field trip inside Mindanao, one minor field trip inside Mindanao, one hour seminar and two hours of Interpersonal. The model D represents the one major field trip inside the Mindanao, two minor field trip inside Mindanao, one hour seminar and two hours Interpersonal. It really means that the model C and D are the cheapest model given. If we think critically we can pay lesser than the Model A and B but as we can see here in Mindanao only Davao has the bigger capacity in terms of innovative technology.
So if here  only in Davao City we can’t see the company that a lot of progressing in technology or in the country is the top, and much high technology more than other places in the country, every here places in the provinces wants to go in the Manila and they wants to see  the National Capital Rigion, as we all know that Manila is one of the center progressing city in the Philippines, so we expect that in the Manila a lot of company that can give us an ideas and more knowledge that we want to learned.  And if we visit every company so we can learned about there history how did they do to become and how they progress their company, so that’s the chances of winning of an idea that we can get or give to them, they said that if you join the FTS  you can join a competition for all Information Technology (IT) they called Y4IT. One of my reasons also in choosing the model A is to earn experiences. If I will fortunately have the money on time to pay the expenses and will be able to go there, it’s my first time to go in too far places. For my twenty years of existence, the place which is far from my home that I had been was the Davao City. The main reason why I did not choose the Model B and C it is because for me Model A has its best. I know that the companies located in model B and C is good but if you think of its company, it is only a branch of the main branch that found in Manila. So with that, it is a best choice to choose the Model A.  I want also to experience to attend a big event like Y4IT event. And it’s my first time to ride an airplane when I was a little cute and handsome child I look in the sky and said that I wanna ride that kind of transportation and I hope I can ride for this kind of seminar and give a lot of experienced to go a company and not to shy, and to practice in path if we apply a job it’s an easy to apply because we have an experienced in our college like this incoming September. We just need to have confidence in ourselves and hope we can make it to reality.   As our facilitator said “You cannot learn inside the classroom but outside of it and make sure to look beyond on what you see.” These are just few lines that our facilitator said and I will carry it wherever I go.  And I hope the result of this trip will be positive and it will be fun out there, I will enjoy myself out there with my friends and we will be learning together. Therefore I conclude that, the learning, journey, experiences, fun and enjoyment were all made up in this one model. That is why I preferred this Model A more than the other models. And I hope our trip is a lot of blessing of an ideas and safe our trip that we can make it or accomplished the task. God Bless Us Fied Trip Seminar and to our facilitator.

I'm going to sleep ^_^ . . zzzzzzZZ !

Sharing you liked most and liked least

It was June 17, 2014 when we had our second meeting in IT Elective 1 Technopreneurship one of my subjects this year’s semester, and it was really informative.  It was a worth day indeed. It was hilarious because of my classmates showcasing their talents and me also, it is their consequence for being late that day and being absent on our last meeting, many talents were discovered, while the others explained why they was absent last meeting.  And if the students got absent for one meeting, they should bring some evidence to prove that they are absent because of valid exculpations. That evidence may be a medical certificate or medical note and a letter that has a signature of parents. As they call them to stand in front to tell the reason for having not to attend the last meeting. It seems some of the reasons are they enrolled the subject on Friday some of the reason additionally are that they postulate that our instructor would not meet during our schedule. And after that, Sir starts the class and he shared something. This is my second time that I heard that phrase. This phrase represents a person that he had a good intention to his students. It means that he live not to have much money, but teaching as his fashion. He teaches not because he is a teacher that can teach many students, but he wants us to learn more the way he teaches.  As sir RSG thinking for some activities, I was amaze as we start to have our yellow paper out and our black ballpen. As of what happen next was the most exciting thing and the most amazing thing to keep in mind? Many of the class doesn’t have their own papers and ballpens. As for the penalty, was to buy the one sheet of paper for fifty pesos and the ballpen for one hundred pesos. I was amazed of sir RSG of what he taught into us. He taught us of what is the essence of a real entrepreneur. I also bought a sheet of yellow paper to Mr. Jumawan that cost of fifty pesos and then sir RSG gave a task an exercise the “9Dots”. The first instruction in our activity is to right our name (Lastname, Firstname MI.) in the upper left corner of our paper. In our first activity, sir RSG showed us nine (9) dots. These dots form a square with three dots in each of three rows. The instruction given is to connect all dots using four strokes without lifting the pen. When I saw the dots and heard the instruction, I am thinking if how I am going to do it. I am a bit confused on how to start connecting those dots. I am focused on the activity. I always give an intent look to the dots. I made a lot of nine dots and trying my very best just to achieve to connect the dots in just a four strokes only, but I failed to do it.  I really liked the first activity prepared by sir RSG about the nine dots and the lesson it has. The message of our first activity is not to depend always on the possible options that can be found in our environment especially if we have not yet seen the solution on our problems. Instead of just using the existing alternatives, why not try to look for much better solutions and explore more things beyond our limitations until we get satisfied with the answer on our problems.
Sir  RSG explain “HOW” in four (4) strokes the puzzle was solve, while us it’s very amazing possible answer that solve by Kuya Bern. So sir RSG said “Think Outside The Box” there was a question keep running on my mind when my classmate made “Think outside the Box”. What does this “Think outside the Box” means? Why is that he went beyond the boundaries and did not stay inside the box? Also, my concern is that our instructor did not tell us to go outside the box. Also, we did not ask for the possibility of going beyond on the corners of the box and it’s like amazing things happen in our daily life that we need to be aware to our environment. So when sir RSG is done about the “9Dots”, he discussed also the mind-set of some people, when sir RSG started the discussion all in the class are listen. We always in the mindset of an old generation that we and our both parents said that you go to school, be a studious student to get higher grades and become most intelligent in your school and to find a job that have a big or higher wage, to yourself, your family and who need a help other people. He started the lecture by presenting his slides that include the topics of Technopreneurship. Sir RSG explained thoroughly the definition of Technopreneur and how it was vary from the word Technology and Entrepreneur. What I had learned about the things that Sir RSG said is that in order to become an entrepreneur, we must start up a business first.  In order to start our own business, we must have the qualification of being a business minded and an attitude that really fits for building a business. Technopreneurship is similar to entrepreneurship. Technology is the only thing that technopreneurs were furnished. It is pretty obvious that there business is evolves in the world of technology. Aside from selling new high tech innovative gadgets, sometimes they sell their own ideas to different companies whether it is in private or public sector that badly needs their idea for their business. Technology plays a massive impact in the lives of everyone. So I’ve got an inspiration to create an ideas to make our city known to the other places outside the beautiful land of the Philippines, and can compete to the other fastest growing companies of the technology matter. And also sir RSG have that dream so I inspire his sharing and I think it was big, and really bright, full of positivity. He’s ultimate dream if I were not mistaken to hear it, he wants that Davao to shine brightly like a sun. It’s not like bright as literally like it will have all the lights in the whole country but what I mean is that he wants the Davao to be the top of all the places in the Philippines as the center of IT business as well as other field of business. This dream is not really difficult, it’s just SO DIFFICULT. Honestly, I find it impossible. Imagine if you will bring the Davao on top, it really needs a lot of efforts as well as money. This dream is not just like “I want to have a luxurious car someday” or “I will have that house someday”. It’s not for himself but for the Davao City. Davao is just a city that is new to advance technology and embrace this not so long ago unlike other cities in the Philippines like Manila. He talks about how he started his step to work out on his dream and that made me focus more on him. In what I remembered, the first step I guess starts when he and his friend was called out and told them that they were going to the Australia. The purpose of going to the other country was not to have a pleasure trip. Going to Australia was to learn something new with a given period of time. Our facilitator said as he shared his experience that they were supposed to spend months in Australia for studying. There were a financial support for the two of them and all they need to do is to say yes and ride with the plane destined to Australia. But the next thing that he reveals was not what I was expecting in that moment. So when the go back to the Philippines with his friend they have sweet cold conversation about to the Australia they saw there have a more “hi-tech” and there economic was very fast growing IT business, so they propose to the CHED of Technoprenuership means “Techno” – Technology and “preneurship”- cames from Entrepreneurship means is the process of identifying and starting a new business venture, sourcing and organizing the required resources, while taking both the risks and rewards associated with the venture. That’s why they make a new name of entrepreneurship the Tehcnoprenership. The topic shared by Sir Randy is all about the Rationale of Technopreneurship (Davao Academe Perspective). It has an outline that consists of five (5) topics, namely: The Usual Mindset, The Alternative Mindset, The Macro Strategy, The Ecosystem, and lastly, the SEED curriculum. As what I have heard while he shares the history of this module, Sir Randy together with his colleagues made this because they want to put Technopreneurship subject in the curriculum of IT Education degrees in every school that offers Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) and Bachelor of Science in Information Management (BSIM) courses here in Mindanao, particularly in Davao City. Way back then, Sir Randy together with his friend had given a chance to study Technopreneurship in Australia but instead of grabbing the opportunity, they chose to bring the Australians here in the Philippines that have knowledge in Technopreneurship and gather the Deans of BSIT, BSCS and BSIM in every school in Region XI, as well as partnering in local organizations here in Davao. With that gathering, they had meeting, lecturing and monitoring sessions about technopreneurship held in different hotels. The presentation and reviewing of the module with some invited students and faculty has been made and after that, they launched successfully the Technopreneurship course. I really liked their advocacy because they are not doing it for the betterment of their selves but they want to help their society, as well as their countrymen. This kind of advocacy creating a way to make changes in the technology we had experience because through technopreneurship, we can think innovative ideas and we can share our innovations that will surely benefit the people and also, we could earn money. I really like the outlined topics in the module “Rationale of Technopreneurship” because for me, we could learn a lot in which we could apply in starting up a business.  So the Usual Mindset is the first topic discussed by Sir RSG in his prepared slides. “Go to school, get good grades, and land in a high-paying job”, this quoted line is best describes what usual mindset is. This example I think all both parents think of this kind mindset to their children mostly the reason why our parents send us to school is because they want us to learn new things to be able to get good grades and to have a good job that has a high salary. And this kind of mindset swallowed by students nowadays. It is not that bad to have a usual mindset and it is not always about getting high salary for being an employee. Upon taking this course, student trained how to be an entrepreneur. To define it technopreneur is the person who destroys the existing economic order by introducing new products and services, by creating new forms of organizations and by exploiting new raw materials. It is someone who perceives an opportunity and creates an organization to pursue it. A person who undertakes risks that has the chance of profit. Technopreneurs distinguishes themselves through their ability to accumulate and manage knowledge as well as their ability to mobilized resources to achieve a specified business or social goal. By that then, an equipped graduate can be produce, a competitive, skilled graduate will be develop. Graduates will no longer seek a second option which is land into a good job instead they will be able to establish their own company. By the knowledge they have they are confident enough to manage and be productive. Our best graduates are sought after by companies, offering attractive compensation packages. Our best graduates are lured to these companies- usually from Cebu, Manila and other urban provinces. Our average graduates remain in Davao but find it hard to land in good-paying jobs. By that then, an equipped graduate can be produce, a competitive, skilled graduate will be develop. Graduates will no longer seek a second option which is land into a good job instead they will be able to establish their own company. By the knowledge they have they are confident enough to manage and be productive. Advantage when there are competitive graduates are, First good implication when we can produce competitive graduates is that, venture capitalist will invest in their viable high- technology products. They will be encourage to put industry which help to rise up the economy of our place. Opportunities towards the people. Merging of business which can help those small capitalist to rise up their venture. In that sense everyone is have a chance. Second blossoms and attracts investors. When there are equipped and suitable competent workers, job opportunities will come to you. Investors will be encourage to invest into an atmosphere where they are confident, where they can see they can earn profits out of their capital. When there is competency price value rising up. Next is their start-ups mature into stable IT enterprises. There must be a ground for those who staring up to those aspirant where they can freely showcase their ideas. Then we will be able to compete in domestic and global markets and sour economic growth in the locality. With an equipped knowledge confidence and competent we can be a proud and a pride of our place. We will be recognized in other country, the demands, they will prior those with competent. And what I liked the most during our discussion in our class. I don’t find it boring, I didn’t feel sleepy even I only slept for two hours the night before the meeting. Unlike other classes that I attend in where the teacher are just lecture about the subject topics while everybody is so serious. But during that day even the topic must be listed in serious manner I still see it enjoyable and knowledgeable. And our adviser is also a very good joker even he is so strict when it comes to the project and the checking of the all requirement. The class become a seminar session I learn a lot not just only what are stated on the slides but also in life that it will going to be an roller coaster , you need to patient and wait for the right time to excel and you will become successful. Like our adviser he success on his race to provide better education for the people and he is so proud of that. And we also his student are proud too. He will become our role model to our success.
Liked Least
Honestly I really had a hard time by figuring out what part of our sharing did I liked least because I was really interested to learn that time and I wanted learn every single information I can get because when sir randy teaches he is really entertaining and he has a lot of lines which can really capture your attention specially when he teaches real life situation I also love the way he looks at things. Like when he says something bad about our other teachers and waves at the cctv. Sir RSG is very entertaining facilitator. A teacher or a professor is someone who teaches a student to what he or she had known. Students learn from teachers and teachers learn from students it is a give and take process to which both parties would benefit. By planning their teaching to achieve progression of learning through identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed, setting tasks which challenge students and ensure high levels of interest, setting appropriate and demanding expectations by mean of letting the students follow the instructions from the professor, setting clear targets, building on prior attainment, be aware of and make provision for students who are AEN/SEN, very able, LAC or who have other particular individual needs, providing clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge, making effective use of assessment and ensure coverage of programmes of study, ensuring effective teaching and best use of available time, maintaining discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework, using a variety of teaching methods to match approach to content, structure information, present a set of key ideas and use appropriate vocabulary and use effective questioning, listen carefully to students, give attention to errors and misconceptions, select appropriate learning resources and develop study skills through library, ICT and other sources Last meeting after the activity that we did which is the 9 dots we proceed to the lecture proper and sir already started discussing about technopreneurship this is the part of the sharing which I think I liked least but I still find it interesting. It is that time when he asked us who is the richest people right now? I really wonder who is the richest people right now. Then sir told us that it is not what we are thinking. The richest business man today is not the richest man. Then I questioned myself who is it? Sir RSG pointed us and said that you are the richest people today because you got the knowledge and information on this generation. Do you remember one of the famous reporter in the “abs-cbn”? Mr. Ernie Baron, that man has a tag line every end of his report that “kung walang knowledge walang power”. It just hard to imagine that Davao city became the provider of the best graduate. But we are just the provider we don’t need to celebrate for that because we don’t getting anything for those graduates just the honor that they give to their school. And their work and hard to improve one community, city or a country are not the places in where they really came from. Because of the lack of IT industries here in Davao City almost of our excellent graduates do travel to other places or country to seek for the companies who can give them better offer compare to the places they came. We teach students and maintain standards that needed to be imposing for better quality of the knowledge of the student and not quantity of the students, and when they graduated as the best the community cannot meet the standard of the student. I might not the excellent type of student that all of the teacher will salute and shake my hands when I graduated, but there is only thing that I can promise that I will provide everything what I can for the future of the place where I came from. Technopreneurship is a subject wherein Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship is combined. Technology which means that internet is the purposeful application of information in the design, production, and utilization of good and services, and in the organization of human activities. Another is Innovation which is a systematic act of turning something which is a product, idea, information, technology and anything into a resource that is of high value to its target market and lastly Entrepreneurship is a practice of consistently converting good ideas into profitable commercial ventures. This simply means that having an idea to become a basic income to which you will gain a much bigger money to what you have invested. And to who will be the one to manage it is not just someone who starts his or her own, new and small business. So our professor sir RSG had called for a panel for them to approve the new curriculum that they want. So when they arrived here in Davao City and explain to what are the possible benefits of this subject? Davao City is a place where many students wish to study because of its high standard quality of education. Specifically speaking the university which is the University of Southeastern Philippines without being arrogant molded many graduates with a high quality standard education. Our professor’s dream is just simple which is to make Davao City competitive to other places just like other places. But as a result fresh graduated from Davao City only makes Cebu and Manila the places makes them more advance in technology. For in the first place it is to where they graduated has the first priority of having that privilege. It is also good because the places which they are going is only a part of the Philippines but it is much better if it is at Davao City. And I think this is one of the key of success to the innovation of what you want to do sir RSG told about word SEED. Our professor had tackled about the word SEED. A seed is just a thing when watered correctly it will grow, and when watered more it will also grow more. Just like an idea when it is nurtured more than that small idea would become a bigger idea and would also result to helping the community to become easier. As our professor sir RSG had tackled the word SEED stands for Self Mastery, Environment, Enterprise and the last one is Development. Self-mastery as to what I have understand is a way where in your small idea should become to a reality in which you will be able to master it. In making a project this would require a help from the others and which would also be the way to make that idea possible. A project is a planned set of interrelated tasks to be executed over a fixed period and within certain cost and other limit. To think as a technopreneurs, to do as technopreneurs does is really hard, but once you get used to it, then everything will be normal and suddenly you will find yourself loving what you are doing and you will inspire others based on your experiences as a technopreneurs. All in all as I listen to Sir RSG speaking, he wants us to be a good technopreneur students, he want us to acquire the talent of thinking, he wants us to be disciplined, he wants us to stay in the city to work here, to create jobs here as an employer, he want his students to contribute for the evolution of the city. I want to be part of the change of the city, because Davao City is the city where I lived now and forever, and I will try my best to stay in the city as long as I could and I will try to contribute to the city’s progress as an IT student. Default mindset  though this one is what I considered as the one that I liked the least, it does not mean that it has all the negative facts, but it has given us the idea on how or what are the things that should be considered and changed. I have realized that I can use this type of mindset inorder for me to excel more and will be able to have the idea to improve and be fitted to the alternative mindset. One thing is for sure, the knowledge. This thing should not be lost in any of us because whatever type of mindset we believed in or whatever level we reach, if we do not or even if we lack this big thing then everything is nothing. So, technopreneurship has really been a very big factor in the field of IT because this could even be considered as the brain of any businesses that involves the presence of high technology. What could this technologies’ help in a certain city or locality if there is nobody who knows on how to use these things. But as an individual who belongs to the information technology field, it only depends to me if I wanted to help to propel the economy of Davao or will I just consider myself as an employee and get paid. Laptops, smartphones, ipods, and many more technologies, it will be all for nothing if we do not know how to use it in a productive way. Another I least like is not following rules. The student always takes their decision, if they are going to follow rules or not. But rules is rules, they can break the rules if they are not the one who made for that. We are supposed to follow the rules of the school but other students are not following it. They forgot to wear the complete and proper uniform. Usually, boys are most of the students who didn't wear proper uniform. They only wear polo shirt and colored pants when they entered the university. And for the girls is they didn’t insert sometimes. Our era now is in the world of technology. As everything our facilitator shared in our class is everything is true. Every single scenario he shared, we came to realized that is happening now. But because of that knowledge we can use it as a lesson or a tool that we can change about it. Particularly the default mindset. Whether you tell me or not, we have that kind of mindset. And now that we are given the opportunity to know them all, I think it’s the time to change our mindset. I mean it’s never too late to make things better and it’s surprising that even Values Education is not part of the curriculum, you can learn it from this subject. I learn how to be a positive person even dreams are look like difficult to achieve. I learn that how effort matters to attain the success. I also find out that other’s stories really can touch one’s life like what happened to me. I also just value more the importance of education. I felt lucky to have a chance for a person like me to seek possibilities in attaining my dreams.  Davao will no longer stay as thin as we are now, it will no longer be just provider of the best who only help other places. Soon enough, it will become what they wanted to be. Also, for the average graduates, it will no longer be hard for them to find good-paying jobs since we will have many companies here that will cater all the soon to be graduates of Davao. When that happens, I will surely come back here. I may not come back for good since I am not from here but who knows, if good opportunity is really found here already, why not. I will not hesitate also to decide to stay for good here. If the investors locate a good view for the business. I am with today and for the rest of my college life. It is about independency. At this age, we learn to be independent in making our own decisions and on making our future. We may ask something from our parents but we limit them to the minimum because we are already capable of doing what they can do. We are starting to develop ourselves on making our future and it depends on us on what and how we make our future. Starting from the beginning, we need to be focused on the things that we do. We need to be dedicated to make our dreams come true and for us to be able to live a happy life soon in the future. And most likely more people are tend to apply in companies that are located here that will surely give them enough salary. But it always depends on the people who are handling the situation, especially the one that will be deciding on the employment, if he or she will be accepting the job or not. If I will be that man, I will get a job that I will be assigned in Davao City. I guess it will be worth it if you will contribute something from where you came from and where you grew up. It will be an honor to me to work in a prestigious workplace wherein you can contribute development and will have great impact on the work environment. As you know to yourself that you are comfortable of living in this place and working with this work area, I will be satisfied and will never go far away just to find high salary paying companies. They may pay you the minimum wage for your job but it will serve as an inspiration to keep you on working hard. You will continue to persuade yourself that you are working for you to achieve a specific amount of salary and someday for a good position or higher position in the company that you are working for. That will always be a wonderful experience if that will happen to me. And lastly, study hard for you to achieve and reach your dreams one day.  Dream big for there is nothing wrong with dreaming. Do all you can do in order for your dreams to be reached and for you to succeed in life. I am thankful that I’ve witness the sharing that our facilitator did during our last meeting because through that sharing I was able to learn many things from different aspects of life.

            Hoping someday that here in Davao City I can help and produce more ideas to make our city best of the best among the rest cities and dream high for your future and “Don’t be afraid to follow your dream” and thanks to our facilitator because they facilitate well and if you dream it will make it real if you strived hard, be an employer to yourself not to be an employee because we want the best. God Bless Us All !!

9 Dots Reflection

Last Tuesday on June 17th of this year in that day early morning I was so rush just like “The Flash” because I’m running out of time to the class of sir RSG while I’m in the tricycle going to University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) I remember that sir RSG if you are his student and you came late or absent to his class you will having a talent show in the front of the class, that’s why while in the tricycle I refresh all the songs that I memorize a stanza or a paragraph of the song and to be perform in front of the class. So when I came in the class late, I sang entitled “ Don’t touch my birdie ” performed by: Parokya ni Edgar when I started to sing all my classmates and sir RSG was laugh because of the song I performed in front of the class. Not only the late performed but also the virgins present in that day there so many and more than 45mins to end the talent show.
So when the talent show is done sir RSG, he give a task called “9dots” before we started to answer or solve the puzzle called “9dots” sir RSG asked us if we have a yellow paper, so if you don’t have like sir RSG said to all students that have a yellow paper “Don’t dare to give a yellow paper you must sell it to them” the price of that paper is 50 pesos each, so I bought to my classmate only 1 paper but the cost is 50 pesos each and also ball pen if you don’t have you need to bought only a hundred pesos (100) each. When I started to solve the puzzle at first I’m confidence that I can solve the task in minute so I tried many times all the possible answer I tried my brains I think have been working overtime on that day to answer only the puzzle, and also my classmates determined to solve the puzzle because of the reward of thousand points that sir RSG wants to give to the students who can solve the puzzle.
So me trying again to solve the puzzle the “9dots” but me I never stop trying to solve because I know that puzzle is very simple it’s like a life that you’ve been given a task or a problem that you facing now like example the financial problem as we all know that one of the reason why some of students stop or a lot of out of school youth, it’s because that “financial problem” or “money” are not even solve until now because we or some of people is what they saw or what happening to their life they contented, like if eating in three (3) times in a day but they don’t know they can get all what they want if their see not only focusing in their situation only they must see the environment or around to them what happening and to be aware to their surroundings. So back to the puzzle if we not only focusing in our situation or focus to the dots, because our mind or my brain is having a situation of rushing mode as we all know our brain is needed to take a rest and in that day or time my brain is not a good condition having a haggard time. And one of the old students of our very owned sir RSG answer it his name is Kuya Bern, kuya Bern said “sir RSG” gave that already last few years ago in their class that’s he know how to solve the puzzle. Sir RSG asked kuya Bern how you solve the puzzle or how you analyse it, kuya Bern replied “don’t know sir”, sir RSG only explain the “9dots”.
Sir RSG said that if they have a task and have an instruction we need to analyse the instruction what they give to us make it sure were not only focus in the situation we need to see the outside of the task or instruction to see if our path is they have a goal or going to success. When kuya Bern answer it the “9dots” I was amazed and wonder how did kuya Bern do that, and he do only 4 strokes but I wonder is it right? If the strokes is outside the box?  A lot of question that came into my brain and when the puzzle solve my brain back becomes alive and a lot of question and wonder.
When sir RSG started to explain how and why is right like that formation of the strokes and accomplished the task, and he also tells a story of some great men and he’s one of them sir RSG have a friend he said that why some of the graduates is thinking always going to the abroad to around the world to make some money and to get higher wage that’s sir said but our own place or the country is not well having a good place other than abroad that high technology, our best graduates here is going abroad to find a work and get more money more than they expect and move forward to other places and some of graduates not so good in this business are stay here in our place they work hard here to make the city get high stats in this business and to be well known other places that in this kind of business we can do make it to the top. And if some graduates is have a purpose to going outside the country it’s because they want to tell everyone in this growing business they can compete to them and more competitive other than the people around them in the other country.

And I’ve a lot of learning to the story of the life of sir RSG some he tell I wanna try example to make the Davao City one of the fastest growing technology city in the country and I hope someday I gonna put at the top of this business of technology and develop more ideas that not only here in the city but also to world and to make our city at the top of the business technology.

FTS First Meeting

Lately we have a meeting for our Field Trip Seminar (FTS) in the first meeting I was very excited and happy. Our pres. of FTS they gave a lot of requirements to join the FTS and to be approve by the CHED and the PRESIDENT of the USEP and they discussed the amount for down payment to purchase the tickets. I was a bit shocked that the amount we need to pay by the 27th of the month is 7,000.

After discussing the amount we need to pay partially, our FTS Treasurer discussed the terms of payment. So it was agreed that we can pay via bank deposit and we just need to present to her the payment slip so that she can keep track of our payments. Actually, after discussion of the payments and the terms, our FTS president reminded us about the requirements we need to comply so that the University President would allow us to conduct the field trip outside the campus and outside Mindanao.

Innovation for Davao City

* SCAN ROAD DEVICE

A SCAN ROAD DEVICE that scan the road that if have an accident in the road the traffic light will change and automatic find a way to make the road or the commuters have it will not affect to that accident in the road and for make it easy to respond the team of the 911 to the accident.

* MINI MAP

And all the traffic light have a MINI MAP for the PUJ only to minimize the wait of the commuters and to have easy to get in and to know the PUJ or what route is coming so we must fast and easily to commute.

* ANDROID PAYMENTS

In the Davao we see some here are very busy like the NSO, get the NBI clearance so hard to pay that’s why ANDROID PAYMENTS is I want to innovate to much easy to pay and get a number of entertain through the app of the establishment and install it and if you get the number you see what time you and what day you need to entertain and every entertain they have a duration 2 - 5 minutes.

Innovation for Hotel

* MINI ID

A MINI ID that can access all the things in the hotel that part of the payments and no need to call a house boy or a room girl and to go in the room the MINI ID only can open and if you want to open the lights or off you need only you use your MINI ID. MINI ID have a censor that can access all the things that you pay in the hotel.

* ANDOID CONTROLLER

 An ANDOID CONTROLLER that can control the whole room that your name or an identity only can access in that room so if you if you go to the other places you can see your room and control it.

* ANDROID READ DEVICE

An ANDROID READ DEVICE can a read gesture of a person have a disability example for the deaf and blind person read device can also do a voice recognition.

Innovation for Fast Food Chain

*MENU TABLE

An android app for the fast food a MENU TABLE it’s like a device that have install an android app that all list of food that they sell is in that device, device looks like a cell phone. More upgrade of this device this they can read a gesture of a person if you a disabled person you can order what you want example of a person that have a disability is deaf person. And this device also have a voice command that blind person easy to order. And if the order done it automatic count your bill the and in the device if you have a card bank or anything that have a money card you can pay in that device, device have a cashier install in it. Put the number of your card in there and it automatically minus to the cost of your food and they give a discount for the person who pay in that app the discount 2% - 5% and if we don’t have a card the person who give the food you in a regular situation.

*VENDO MACHINE

 We use the MENU TABLE to choose of what we want to order the MENU TABLE is connected to the VENDO MACHINE that have a wireless connection to the VENDO MACHINE if you choose it automatic it will serve you and get your order to the VENDO MACHINE every VENDO MACHINE have a task to do and to serve or perfect volume of an item example of the fries, the coke and the coke float and every table have a number that if you done to order if will appear to the monitor that your order is done and you go there and pay the total cost of the food.

* HEALTHY DIET SCAN DEVICE

And if you enter a fast food they have a device a HEALTHY DIET SCAN DEVICE it looks like big, bigger than the person if we enter that device it will scan our body and get a healthy food for and it’s a real time base example this time is a meal time that device give the list what food you need to eat this day to make your body healthy.

Oh ang lakas nang ulan . .  :( BAHA nanaman saamin . !

Techno 1 First meeting (June 10, 2014)

During our first meeting in Elective 1 (Technopreneurship 1), we discussed about things like innovating technologies that can help improve certain processes of certain establishments, or innovate ideas the for the better of the human race. It was rather amazing that some things that were just concepts or ideas years ago have come to reality in other countries as what our facilitator shared. Some of these ideas are hard to believe that they are existing in other countries. Talk about the fast-paced evolution of technology. Now as young technopreneur's, we are required to go on observing establishments around Davao, and also Davao City itself and think of an idea that is not yet existing that can help improve the lives of the people.

It is kind of difficult to think about new technological innovations since there already many improvements and ideas that we once thought was not possible but has been made possible. Difficult but we will do this. God bless to us!
