Seminar Overview
We all know that
in our country Davao city is one of the fastest growing technology here. So one
of the high technology company here is the Synnex-Concentrix located in Damosa
IT Park Lanang, Davao City and as one of the student Bachelor of Science in Information
Technology and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in the University of
Southeastern Philippines in our curriculum we have a Field Trip Seminar (FTS)
and this semester, our minor field trip was held in Synnex-Concentrix located
in Damosa IT Park Lanang, Davao City.
Day 1
Visiting the
company was clearly a good experience to me and also to my classmates and on
that day I expect many things that can make me amazed in a company that have
many high tech devices and very nice company. In our visit to the company I
discovered that Concentrix is not really a call center type of company but
clearly has a lot of services to offer to us IT students. The company mostly
have technical support IT professionals and they also offer training which
allows the future employees to garner more knowledge and skills in their stay
in the company.
What I learned?
I learned that
ICT Companies are now playing a big role in every cities industry and discover
, BPO companies are serve as marks on how a certain city is now modernize and
it is also one of the bases that a
certain city is successful in terms of its economy. They let us know that
classified thing is truly vital in their work place. I realized additionally
that the things that were thought by our teacher in our significant subjects
like writing computer programs are likewise pertinent in Concentrix and since
that we are IT students, as what they have said to us, we are really welcome to
be part on their organization later on.
What I liked ?
I really like the
way how they accommodates us and showing their willingness to tour us in every
group of work floor. I like the atmosphere of their workplace it is full of
positivity and as what I observed to their employees they enjoyed the company
of each other which is a mark of a healthy relationship between employees. Also
they can access the cyber lounge where they can view there social sites. They
have this motto that “Work Hard, Party Harder” one of the biggest event of
their company is they celebrate year end party and family day that they can
enjoy each other with the family members.
What I didn’t like?
I didn't like ?
Technically, there was nothing I didn’t like about Synnex Concentrix for most
of the things the tour guide said where informative and helpful.
APPENDIX
What can I recommend
for the improvement of the advance seminar program of USEP?
I would
recommend that the organizers especially the university could find the right
type of company and speakers for the students to learn more and gain out of the
said trip. It would be also helpful if the companies could also let the
students let them use some of their key resources, technologies and many more
to experience what is it like to be in the field working even though it is just
for a short period of time. And I also introduce us their latest technologies
that they use in their department because in that way we will be amaze with
what they are doing.
My advice to those who
will take their advance seminar program in the near future.
My advice is that can recognize
all the people that want to come inside the company. So it easy for them to
recognize the people and hassle for them.
